NYIIX goes live with the new Centillion Platform, Enhancing Capacity and Reliability
New York, NY, USA – April 1st, 2015 – TELEHOUSE, the global leader for data centers, international Internet exchanges, and managed IT services, announced it will go live with the new Centillion platform this month in order to enhance the overall value of New York International Internet Exchange (NYIIX), the company’s extended New York peering network. By upgrading to the Centillion platform, NYIIX members will experience higher capacity and more redundant infrastructure. Centillion uses a dual core MPLS/VPLS architecture and will be offering: (1) one, (10) ten, and (100) one hundred Gig-E support.
Since its inception in 1996, the NYIIX Peering Exchange is New York’s largest and most active peering exchange. Data center and carrier-neutral with over 140 members, NYIIX offers the most comprehensive membership list of any New York exchange.
“The upgrade to Centillion, which will be completed in April 2015, is just another prime example of ways Telehouse is constantly looking to improve,” states Akio Sugeno, Vice President of Internet Engineering, Operations and Business Development at TELEHOUSE America. “We are confident that our current and future members, as well as resellers will find this upgrade beneficial to their overall NYIIX peering experience.”
